Sept 24   Tony Alcock, Chief Exec of Bowls England has announced his retiral with effect from Spring 2020.

Sept 16   Finals week saw the majority of the club competitions results being settled.   Visit our competition page to see the winners names up in Lights.

Aug 8   6 of our Juniors played in a pre-international match against a touring team from Hong Kong at Newport Pagnell Bowls club.   The event was broadcast on BBC Look East and 3 Counties Radio.   Well done to our juniors who played some excellent bowls and gained a massive amount of experience.

July 26   Congratulations to Claire Ridpath who won the Bucks unbadged singles competition at Chesham Bowls Club.  Claire won 21-9, beating Beverley Goldsworthy from Newport Pagnell.

May 17   A further community activity by one of our members saw Rowland Cleverley and his wife Jane, embark on a 2 week cycle ride to do LEJOG - Lands End to John O'Groats.  They are raising funds for two Charities, Breast Cancer Now and the British Heart Foundation.   The club wishes them well.

May 14   3 of our Juniors attended the first Bucks Bowls Junior academy at Aylesbury and Harvey Whitmack has been invited to join the Bucks U25 team despite the tender age of 13.   A massive compliment to the Junior coaches and the Club in general.

May 13   Newport Pagnell Bowling Club has launched the North Bucks Junior Academy in conjunction with Taylor bowls.   A number of our Junior bowlers have become involved and a structured series of events are planned for the forthcoming season and beyond.

May 12   Olney Bowling Club Open day was a much quieter affair than in previous years.   Despite that, plenty of folks came along to find out more about the game and to take part in some of the activities which were available on the day.  From that, around 20 new members signed up for further coaching.

Mar 5   Claire Ridpath and Pat Andrews got into the thick of things when they joined the world famous Olney Pancake Race, running to raise funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind.   Thanks to their efforts, over £200 was raised.  Just another way that Olney Bowling Club is involved in the community.

Apr 22   The first inter club friendly against Ampthill resulted in a win for Olney by 100 points to 78.   Have a look at our photo album from the game by following this link.

Apr 20   Our Juniors had their opening day when 20 potential bowlers turned up to find out what the sport is all about.  President Gerald Wilson and Gents Captain came along to welcome the new fledgling bowlers and to deliver the Silver Jack which declared the Juniors open.   Find out all about the day by following the link to the Juniors pages.

Apr 15   2018 brought in a new concept to the club when we organised our very first formal opening of the green when we held our very first Green Opening Day.   Following on a tradition of clubs elsewhere in the UK, we formalised the opening - see what happened by following  this link.

Mar 25   If you have some time free on Sunday 25th March a working party will be cleaning the clubhouse and surrounds
to get it ready for our new Opening Day which will be kicking off the beginning of the bowling season.  If you are able to help it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are able to get along, we will be starting from 1000 am onwards and Rory has asked that you email him to enable him to have an idea of how many people will be turning up.
